The Shabad (Word) is the power of the soul. Nothing happens without both the Shabad and the soul. The Shabad is needed as the journey of meditation and nature of mediation is exciting, emotional and unpredictable. The Shabad becomes the stability. It becomes the soul’s balancing act.
If we look at the nature of humans, we are all persistent thinkers. We generate, store and express information. The Shabad becomes the source of information and our point of focus.
The nature of God is such that He works in rhythm and patterns, without knowledge to focus on.
The Shabad helps to maintain a rhythm and with daily practice it builds momentum. Rhythm is key in activating the inner system.
